Michael Morpurgo's War Horse, directed by Steven Spielberg, had its regional premiere at Torbay's Apollo Cinema on the English Riviera four days before its nationwide opening.

The Rotary Club of Ashburton & Buckfastleigh worked with Apollo Cinema to bring the screening to the English Riviera as a charity fundraiser for Help for Heroes, the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund, and Michael Morpurgo's Charity Farms for City Children.
